A Deep Dive Into The Garmin Vivofit Junior

Another coup for Garmin, an activity tracker specifically designed for kids. The Garmin Vivofit Jr is a one size fits all bracelet style activity tracker that will help to motivate your child to 60 minutes of activity per day.

When connected to an adults mobile phone the Vivofit Junior can remind the child when it’s time to do homework, brush teeth etc via TASKS.

As well as these task reminders the parent can set REWARDS to “earn coins” for redemption against a previously agreed reward. The Garmin Vivofit Jnr fitness band has been reviewed by Tristan Haskins aka CardioCritic

  • Pros

  • Cons

The Vivofit Jr is for any child who will respond to the daily challenges of the 60 minute activity target. It’s a regular time of the day watch as well as an fitness band.

I’m quite certain that there’s a massive audience out there for an activity tracker designed specifically for kids.

If you’re trying to instill a more active lifestyle in to your kids, maybe you already wear a Garmin Vivofit or similar Fitbit tracker yourself. Why not introduce the kids to daily activity tracking now … it certainly makes sense to me, and it’s been done in a FUN way kids will enjoy and respond to.

Make those boring household tasks more fun by allowing the Vivofit Jr to do the work.

Using the dedicated smartphone app parents can set up tasks that the kids will see on their bands, getting a reminder that they have new jobs to do.

The tasks can be configured to repeat  daily or even weekly. The Vivofit Jr takes some of the mundane daily chores and makes them fun, making it perfect for children who need reminders to do their homework, brush their teeth or even make their beds.

    Review Summary

The Garmin Vivofit Jr is an excellent product. It’s fun, informative, motivational and comes highly recommended for kids looking to track their daily activity.

I have awarded the Vivofit Jr a review rating of 4.5/5 stars due to it’s innovative design and novel approach to solving the problem of adolescent inactivity. Garmin have managed to combine fun, form and function in this excellent fitness band.

If they're outgrown the vivofit Jr, why not consider the Vivosmart HR. Learn more about it here: cardiocritic.com/fitness-watches/garmin/vivosmart-hr-review/
